ULINK: SERVICE INSTALLATION SECTION IN INF FILE INVALID

Information in this article applies to:

  • ULINK USB-JTAG Adapter

QUESTION

When I connect the Keil ULINK, I get the following message during USB driver installation.

service installation section in this INF file is invalid

What can cause this?

ANSWER

This problem occurs when the ULINK driver files are not copied to the correct folder. Make sure the following files are present in the Windows operating system folder and that you have Administration Rights on your computer during installation:

  • Windows\Inf\KeilUL.Inf
  • Windows\Driver\System32\KeilUL.SYS

Note that the folder C:\Windows is named C:\WinNT on Windows 2000 computers.
