Technical Support Support Resources Product Information | µVISION: FLASH PROGRAMMING FAILS ON LUMINARY EVAL BOARD
Information in this article applies to: - RealView Microcontroller Development Kit 3.1 or higher
- Luminary Starter Kits with on-board JTAG
QUESTIONI am using a Luminary Starter Kit with on-board JTAG and I have problems with Flash programming. It appears that I cannot select the Luminary Driver in µVision under Projects — Options — Utilities — Use Target Driver for Flash Programming. Only ULINK drivers are available here. What can be wrong? ANSWERYou need to install the USB driver for the Luminary Board. To reinstall the Luminary driver proceed as described below: - Disconnect the Luminary Board and reboot your computer.
- Insert the CD-ROM that came with the Luminary Board.
- Connect the Luminary Board.
- Open the Windows Device Manager (using Start — Control Panel — System — Hardware — Device Manager). Under Universal Serial Bus controllers or Other Devices it lists all USB devices that are connected to your computer. One of the devices should have either the name LMxxxx Evaluation Board or just USB Device. Select this device to open the USB Device Properties dialog.
- Use Driver — Update Driver to open the Hardware Update Wizard. Select Install the software automatically and click Next. Note that this process may take a very long time.
- Windows now searches for the Luminary driver and may display an Warning message about missing Windows Logo Testing. Click Continue Anyway to confirm the installation of the Luminary driver.
When you now start µVision and load a Luminary project you should be able to select the Luminary Eval Board under Projects — Options — Utilities — Use Target Driver for Flash Programming. Last Reviewed: Monday, September 10, 2007
