DSCOPE: SMOD BIT DOESN'T DOUBLE BAUD RATE

QUESTION

I'm using dScope with the 8051 DLL and whenever I set the SMOD bit in the PCON register, the baudrate drops to one-half the rate instead of double the rate. When I look in the SERIAL port dialog box, the correct baud rate displays, but the time between serial interrupt is doubled instead of halved. Is this a bug?

ANSWER

Yes. We have verified that this is a problem with the 8051.DLL version 1.3. However, this has been corrected in the C51 V5.50a release. Contact our sales department for upgrades.
